At Caterpillar, we’ve always been about helping others and strengthening the community. Caterpillar has supported United Way for more than 60 years. Due to the global pandemic, our communities have needed us now more than ever as local nonprofits struggle to support a higher volume of individuals in need.
We are incredibly proud that Caterpillar employees and retirees significantly increased their support of our local communities this year through participation in the 2020-2021 Caterpillar Employee United Way Appeal. This year’s campaigns across the United States, Canada, Mexico and Panama collectively raised more than $12.2 million, including employee and retiree donations, and the Caterpillar Foundation’s dollar-for-dollar match.
In the United States, participation was 52 percent, and the campaigns in Canada, Mexico and Panama have continued to grow over the last several years – a true testament to the giving spirit of Caterpillar employees and retirees, combined with the hard work of our United Way planning teams.
Community by community, United Way works to elevate the quality of life for millions of people worldwide, including those in our own backyards. Thanks to the generous donations from Caterpillar employees and retirees, 2,452 global United Ways and funded partner agencies will directly benefit, helping to improve the lives of children, families and seniors in communities around the world.
Across the globe, our people are doing the work to help build a better world and improve lives everywhere. Way to go Team Caterpillar!
