Education

The Caterpillar Visitors Center is pleased to offer curriculum aligned with the Illinois Common Core State Standards for grade levels Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade in Mathematics, English/Language Arts and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education. These fun and educational materials are designed to engage and educate students before, during and after their field trip.

In addition to curriculum you will also find information to assist in planning a visit to the Caterpillar Visitors Center. Educators are encouraged to use an Educator Day Pass for a complimentary visit prior to the field trip to familiarize themselves with the facility. The Educator Resource Guide provides teachers and chaperones with talking points and critical thinking topics for each gallery. Field trip policies and reservation forms are also available here.

The Caterpillar Visitors Center (located in Peoria, IL) offers field trips and learning experiences for students of all ages. Below you will find resources to help you plan your visit, from making reservations to getting to know our facility and exhibits. The Educator Resource Guide makes it easy for educators and chaperones to plan an engaging, interactive day with students and offers tips on how to extend the experience from the classroom - to the field trip experience – and back to the classroom.
