Lean Manufacturing Apprentice:
You will join a driven and motivated team of Apprentices, within a leading manufacturing organisation, supplying the Worldwide Construction Industry. During your Apprenticeship you will gain knowledge and experience, completing hands on tasks assembling Construction Products, alongside gaining your formal qualifications, which are recognised and fully transferrable within the manufacturing sector. You will be working in assembly production areas within the business, which are fast paced, physically demanding – you will be assembling components to a high-quality standard and to strict deadlines.
This apprenticeship has been designed to run for 15 months. Your first 12 months are based on working towards your Level 2 Diploma in Manufacturing and your skills, knowledge, and behaviours as you develop your knowledge of manufacturing principles and techniques alongside your work skills. Following your first 12 months with Caterpillar, you will then be entered for your end-point-assessment. Your end point assessment will comprise of two assessments:
Upon successful completion you will achieve the Lean Manufacturing Operative Standard and your Level 2 Diploma in Manufacturing.
Further opportunities:
*Potential 2nd Year programme options: 6 Sigma Trainee, with a built in EAL, Level 3 Diploma in Business-Improvement Techniques. Caterpillar Six Sigma Green Belt training.

Join a new and exciting group of apprentices working for the world’s leading manufacturer of construction products. Our assembly plant is based in Desford, Leicestershire and has over 65 years of business excellence experience.
You will gain practical hands-on experience and develop your theoretical knowledge. You will also gain formal qualifications, which are transferable and recognised within the industry sector.
Each year our Desford facility recruit a number of apprentices, to gain experience in industry and develop their CV for future employment.
This scheme offers new apprentices an opportunity to gain a minimum of 15 months ‘experience*, with the opportunity of applying for a full-time role, or further apprenticeship opportunities, where available, at our Desford facility.

Apprentices earn whilst gaining invaluable, hands on work experience and industry recognised qualifications. These qualifications are delivered onsite within our Caterpillar Skills Development Academy and our production areas.
