Caterpillar employees and leaders recently gathered to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Torreón, Coahuila, Mexico, facility. The facility launched during the summer of 1999, and today has expanded to 767,000 square feet of manufacturing space.
Caterpillar Torreón produces heavy fabrications and work tools for small wheel loaders, hydraulic excavators, track-type tractors, off-highway trucks, motor graders and backhoes.
“For the time I have been fortunate to lead Torreón, I have had the pleasure of working with great people; colleagues committed to making their work safe every day, striving always for quality, and focused on meeting the customer needs and expectations,” said Torreón Facility Manager Greg Garza. “Thanks to our employees for their dedication and to their families for being the day-to-day support of our employees’ efforts.”
The 1,300 employees and their families are proud to work together to manufacture the highest quality products while always making safety their top priority.
As proactive members of the Torreón community, employees collaborate with local business partners to host events that support the education of less fortunate youth and inspire them to one day become a Caterpillar employee.
Torreón employees are also actively involved with the United Way of Mexico and many other organizations including Instituto de Desarrollo Integral de la Laguna A.C., Casa Hogar de Niños la Fe, Asoc. Laguna Yo Te Quiero, Cruz Roja Mexicana, Elementary School Juan Antonio de la Fuente and Casas Hogar Providencia Ejercito de Salvación y San Agustin. Employees exemplify Caterpillar’s Values in Action by demonstrating Integrity, Excellence, Teamwork, Commitment and Sustainability.

In addition, Caterpillar Torreón thanks the Laguna Region – Torreón – Gomez Palacio – Lerdo, for their support and for being a source of highly professional and committed employees over these 20 years of outstanding operations.
