This privacy notice describes how Caterpillar collect(s) and process(es) personal information through the Caterpillar MineStar Mobile application.  This notice is consistent with Caterpillar’s Global Privacy Statement which describes how Caterpillar collects, processes and shares personal data, rights that you may have under privacy laws and other information relevant to Caterpillar’s processing of personal information.

What personal information does this App collect and process, and why?

User-Provided Information

This Mobile Application is a companion application to use in conjunction with a subscription that a dealer/customer has in place with MineStar Edge system.  It allows the user to access MineStar Edge in order to visualise and modify production, assets and stop reason information.  Personal identifiable information provided by the user may be included in PDF reports and may be sent to other systems that integrate with Caterpillar MineStar Edge.

When logged in, the Mobile Application accesses profile information attached to a Caterpillar CWS ID.  This information is used to efficiently respond to, and process requests generated from the Application.  This information may include name, organization, and email address.

Automatically collected Information and Tracking

This Application automatically collects device information (mobile phone make, model and operating system), Application version information and session information (when the Application is used and for how long and what actions are being performed in the Application.).

Some additional personal information we may collect includes Authenticated Account Information.

• Authentication Account Information is an identity profile which is requested or created by the user and collected by Caterpillar to ensure you are authorized.

This information may be used to help drive decisions around the Application and product development and improvements.

Do Not Track Signals

At this time, this Mobile Application does not respond to “Do Not Track” signals that may be sent by your browser.  We may revisit this as standards develop on how such signals should be interpreted and applied.
