Caterpillar Ventures Extends its Search for New Innovation

Today Caterpillar Ventures is announcing a commitment to invest in Cottonwood Technology Fund II. The fund is managed by Cottonwood Capital Partners II, LLC, based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Cottonwood makes seed and early stage investments in companies developing disruptive technologies across a broad spectrum of industries and areas including chemistry and material sciences, photonics, robotics and energy. The fund works with corporations to determine technology areas of strategic interest - then finds, funds and helps develop entrepreneurial companies within those areas.

The investment in the Cottonwood Technology Fund II will complement Caterpillar’s Enterprise Technology Strategy. The fund will give Caterpillar visibility to emerging technologies in areas of interest including, but not limited to, additive manufacturing, analytics and robotics.
