Infrastructure

For more than 95 years, Caterpillar products and services have helped improve the lives of people around the world. Our global customers use Cat equipment to build the infrastructure that provides access to water, electricity, roads, bridges, hospitals, schools and so much more. Infrastructure is core to Caterpillar’s businesses. We not only build it, but we also rely on highways, railways, airports and ports to get inputs to our manufacturing facilities, to get products, parts, and components to our dealers and customers, and to get our employees to and from work safely every day. 

In the United States, Caterpillar supports Congressional passage of the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA). This legislation will provide historic levels of funding to build, repair and upgrade America’s roads and bridges, as well as billions in additional funding for rail, transit, port, waterway, airport and broadband internet infrastructure improvements. A modern and reliable infrastructure system is key to the global competitiveness of U.S. manufacturers. The investments in the IIJA will help the U.S. remain globally competitive – promoting domestic production as well as exports around the world.  As a net exporter, Caterpillar believes that an upgrade to U.S. infrastructure will serve its global network of dealers and customers more efficiently.
