Tom Frake is a senior vice president of Caterpillar Inc., responsible for the Excavation Division. In this role, he provides global leadership for the design and manufacture of tracked and wheeled excavators ranging in size from 11 to 90 metric tons, as well as Cat Work Tools.
Frake joined Caterpillar in 1986 and held a variety of positions in sales, marketing, product development and management across Caterpillar’s global portfolio, including extensive experience working with Cat dealers in Asia and various leadership positions in Singapore, Chile, and the U.S. In 2012, the Caterpillar board of directors appointed Frake as senior vice president of the Marine & Petroleum Power Division. He was named senior vice president of the Excavation Division in 2018.
Frake holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural engineering from Purdue University. He has also completed advanced management programs through Caterpillar and Harvard University.
