Steven (Steve) Ferguson is a senior vice president of Caterpillar Inc., responsible for the Industrial Power Systems Division. This organization has worldwide responsibility for designing, manufacturing, marketing and sales of 0.5L to 18L industrial Cat® and Perkins engines, sales of the Perkins® 4000 and 5000 Series, and Caterpillar Defense products. Products are distributed through a global network of Cat dealers, Perkins distributors, OEMs, and government entities and power over 5,000 different applications throughout the world.
Prior to his current appointment, Ferguson was the general manager of Advanced Component Manufacturing, responsible for component manufacturing of hydraulics, cabs, and drive train systems. Since joining Caterpillar in 1990, Ferguson has held senior leadership roles in financial management for the Large Power Systems and Excavation Divisions. He also served as the chief financial officer for Caterpillar’s Construction Industries segment, based in Singapore.
Ferguson is an energetic and enterprise results-driven executive leader with 30+ years of global experience and a strong finance and operations management background. He has a proven track record of delivering excellent results by driving lean and cost-competitive operations.
Ferguson serves as executive sponsor for the Caterpillar Latino Connection employee resource group. He is also a member of the board of directors of the San Antonio Food Bank. Ferguson has a bachelor’s degree in business from Eastern Illinois University and is a Northwestern Advanced Executive Development Program graduate.
