Herwig Peschl

Herwig Peschl is a senior vice president of Caterpillar Inc., responsible for Global Construction & Infrastructure (GCI). In this role, he provides leadership for worldwide sales, service and marketing for the Earthmoving, Excavation, and Load & Haul machinery groups. The GCI team exclusively partners with the Cat® dealer network to promote and commercially support the sale of Cat-branded products, solutions and services.

Peschl joined Caterpillar in 1997 as a marketing trainee. During his 25-plus years with Caterpillar, he has held a number of commercial, dealer development and project management roles with the company, where he’s built deep relationships with customers and dealers across the globe. Prior to being appointed senior vice president of GCI in 2023, Peschl served as vice president of sales & marketing for EAME and Asia Pacific in the Construction Industries Services Division. He’s also previously held several leadership positions within GCI, including industry region manager for EAME, global marketing manager and global customer solutions manager. In addition, he’s worked closely with dealers to build distribution system capabilities as district manager for northern Europe and Eurasia.

Peschl earned degrees in business from EM Lyon in France and the University of Saarbrücken in Germany. A native of Austria, Peschl is currently based in Geneva, Switzerland and is on the board and managing director of Caterpillar SARL (CSARL).
