Derrick York

Derrick York is president of Solar Turbines, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Caterpillar, and senior vice president of Caterpillar Inc. Solar Turbines is a global leader in the design, manufacture and service of gas turbine systems and compressors for the oil and gas and power generation industries.

Prior to this role, York served as senior vice president of Caterpillar Oil, Gas & Marine division. He has held several other positions at Caterpillar, including general manager of the Marine division, chief financial officer within the Services, Distribution and Digital segments and director of corporate development. Before joining Caterpillar in 2010, York held progressive commercial and service-related leadership roles in private equity, investment banking and public accounting.

York has a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a master’s in business administration from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management.
