How one employee’s internal calling to make a difference is creating change at Caterpillar

Joey always felt a calling to make a difference in the world. She followed her heart throughout every step in her career, which took her from institutional investing to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Her move to Caterpillar as a member of the Law, Security and Public Policy team meant joining a company that shared her values.

“After reading Caterpillar’s Values in Action, I knew this company would be a good fit for me,” she said.

Her internal calling also inspired her to lead important work with the Women’s Initiative Network (WIN), one of Caterpillar’s 14 ERGs. As WIN’s former chairperson, she led efforts to expand membership, helping WIN become Caterpillar’s largest ERG with nearly 5,000 members and over 70 active chapters around the world.

As a leader at Caterpillar, Joey takes pride in helping women and men understand how and why diversity enables long-term success. And, while she knows there is still much work to be done, Joey says she is proud to be part of Caterpillar’s journey to create a more diverse and gender-balanced workforce.
