The Leadership & Technical Development Program (LTDP) – Procurement track advances the development and training of the next generation of highly capable leaders, with particular focus on the technical aspect of procurement and supply management, manufacturing quality, supplier management and operations supervision..

During the program, you will rotate through three one-year assignments that will grow and develop your career. The roles will be selected based on your skills and career goals. Once you complete the program, procurement professionals are placed in permanent positions within the Global Supply Network Division.

We are looking for people who have:

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale (no rounding)
  • MS or BS degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management or Business Management/Administration from an accredited program or university
  • At least one internship experience in a related field or in a manufacturing environment
  • Desire to travel and ability to relocate
  • Capability to work off-shift hours

Procurement track

The Leadership & Technical Development Program (LTDP) - Operations Leadership track is a three-year program with three challenging rotation assignments to fit your career needs. This community includes manufacturing, operations management, supply chain management, technical services, facilities planning, quality, purchasing and Caterpillar Production System deployment.

You will spend one year in manufacturing engineering, one year in operations supervision, and one year in a cross-functional area including but not limited to quality, purchasing and logistics. With each rotation, you will improve your technical skills through core and track specific training, coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities. Upon completion of the program, you will be placed in a position within the Operations Management community for a two to three year assignment.

We are looking for people who have:

  • Minimum GPA: 2.8 on a 4.0 scale (no rounding)
  • Bachelor's degree in (preferred, but not limited to): Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Operations Management
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to relocate for rotation assignments

The Leadership Training and Development Program - Supply Chain Management track is a three-year program. This community includes professionals in production scheduling, demand and orders management, logistics planning, inventory management, packaging, purchasing, and Caterpillar Production System deployment.

You will complete two one-year rotations in supply chain management which may include material planning, demand and orders planning, inventory management, logistics planning, and packaging. You will also complete a one year rotation in a cross-functional area like purchasing, supply chain management, and manufacturing engineering. While in the program, you will improve your technical and leadership skills through core and track specific training, coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities. Upon completion of the program, you will be placed in a position within the Supply Chain Management community for a two to three year assignment that fits your career goals.

We are looking for people who have:
